Casey Smith is Having Fun in 2006

Austin, Texas (July 6, 2006) – Since the June 17th scheduled USRA SLM race was postponed due to inclement weather, Casey Smith has been out of his race car for nearly a month and is more than ready to get back to the track.

Casey and his team spent the 4th of July Holiday preparing for the upcoming USRA SLM at San Antonio Speedway.

“I have such an awesome team” Casey said.  “Gary and Alan Buchanan came on board this year, with their financial resources it has helped push us to one of the top-tier Super Late Model teams in the country.  We have been a top five car at just about every track we have raced this year, that is when it makes it fun, when you are fast, super competitive, and winning races.”

Aside from the financial help the Buchanan brothers have put into the team, their friendship dates back to when Casey began racing Quarter Midgets.

“I would consider Gary and Alan more like big brothers.  I don’t have any to compare to, but I know we are all very close.  They both come up from San Antonio a couple of times a week and just hang out in the shop.  We have a lot of fun and that is what racing is supposed to be about.”
