Casey Heads Into Weekend Leading the Points in the Miller Lite Super Late Model Series

July 17, 2007  (Austin, Texas) - Casey has not been in his race car since he took the checkers at Mobile International Speedway, May 26th, and he is ready to get back behind the wheel of his #99 Super Late Model heading into this week-end’s double header at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida and Mobile International Speedway, in Mobile Alabama.  He’ll run the Blizzard Series on Friday evening, July 20th before towing across the state line on Saturday night, July 21st for the Miller-Lite Super Late Model Series.

Casey, who is leading the Miller-Lite Super Late Model Series point standings at Mobile International after two races, is looking for win number two Saturday night at the fast half-mile track.  He has finished no worse than third in any of the races this year.  However, Smith has struggled in the Blizzard Series at Five Flags Speedway.  His best finish is 19th after two starts. Smith’s racing schedule allocated the month of June off. During his off time, what did Casey do? “did lots of testing working for better results at Five Flags Speedway.”

The Blizzard Series evolved by popular demand from drivers wanting some practice time leading to the prestigious Snowball Derby in December.  “That track has kicked me in the butt ever since we built this car to take to the Derby last year. It was a huge disappointment when we did not make the field for last year’s Snowball Derby, hopefully we have figured some things out.  We are trying something really different for this week’s race. I am hoping to unload at Five Flags, and the car be good, usually if you unload good you pretty much stay good or get better.” Casey expressed. Thirty Three drivers from across the country are expected at this coming double-header week-end and it is just the kind of weekend that Casey likes.  Friday and Saturday night racing against a very competitive field of drivers!
