Gulf Coast Weekend Trip in the Cards Next for Casey Smith Racing

Austin, TX 8/12/08- Usually a little weekend getaway along the Gulf Coast is recognized as having some fun in the sun, hanging out on the beach, and eating some good ole’ southern seafood cooking. Well, Casey Smith will be having some fun in the sun alright, but it will be behind the wheel of his #99 Rapid Disposal Chevy Monte Carlo super late model around Pensacola’s Five Flags Speedway and the ultra fast Mobile International Speedway this Friday and Saturday.

Smith will compete Friday night in race four of the five race Blizzard miniseries at the Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida then travel an hour east to the Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, Alabama for round three of their four round Miller Lite Super Late model miniseries.

The main focus for Smith at Pensacola will be to bring home a solid finish and look to continue the uphill climb of success that his Casey Smith Racing team has had this season at the ultra competitive track. Heading into this weekend’s event Smith currently sets fourth in the championship points standings a critical position to be in as the top five finishers in the championship points standings will earn provisional starting spots for the 41^st Annual Snowball Derby in December should they fail to qualify for the event.

Down the road a bit Casey will have a different outlook on things as his plans include nothing short of win. For Smith who won the 2007 Miller Lite Super Late Model championship a string of bad luck has kept him from atop the championship points standings and out of the track’s winners circle so far this season. Casey however; has showed plenty of speed as he has captured two poles and led his fair share of laps around the high banked oval. Look for Smith to attack the Mobile event as a man on a mission.
